MedFlash™ (Intense Pulse Light) Photo-aging Rejuvenation IPL or Intense Pulse Light Photo-aging Rejuvenation is another minimally invasive, low down-town treatment to help fight skin blemishes on your face, neck, chest and hands. These blemishes may include freckles, broken capillaries or blood vessels, enlarged pores, dark spots or age spots, a blotchy skin color and redness (or rosacea) of the face and neck. IPL can be used to treat vascular redness, pigmented brown spots, sun damage, and collagen structure all at once. This treatment was designed for people who are unwilling or unable to undergo existing laser or chemical treatments, due to potential side effects, discomfort and long recovery period. IPL uses a precision light generator that transmits a bright pulse of white light through a hand piece with a smooth flat glass surface that is held against your skin. The light energy stimulates the production of collagen while destroying excess pigment, redness, spider veins, fine lines and enlarged pore and other blemishes. Most patients describe the sensation to be like a mild snap of a rubber band on the skin as the pulses of energy are delivered through the hand piece. Treatments generally last between 45 - 60 minutes, and are spaced out at three week intervals. After one treatment, you will notice a more even tone with a smoother look and feel. Typically, a patient will require one to six treatments to achieve the desired results. Laser Hair Removal The Hair Removal handpiece emit pulses of light into the hair follicles.
