Middle age woman with large arms due to significant fat deposits.	This patient underwent SmartLipo. A vast improvement in the circumferential size of her arm is obvious. As opposed to brachioplasty ("arm lift") there are no noticeable scars on the arm because there is no loose skin to excise; the SmartLipo laser tightens the skin without the need for additional surgery.
Middle age man with extra fat deposits in his chest/breast region (gynectomastia).	This patient underwent SmartLipo. Although there is still some swelling from the procedure, there is already a significant improvement in the contour of his chest, giving him a more masculine physique.
Young woman who was told by other plastic surgeons that she needed a abdominoplasty ("tummy tuck") because of her stretch marks (a sign of weak elasticity of the skin) and excess skin that would remain after traditional liposuction.	This patient underwent SmartLipo. Notice that there is no more shadowing underneath her belly area because of the removal of the lower abdominal bulge. Also notice there is no excessive, loose skin ("crepe-like skin") despite her having stretch marks; she did not need a tummy tuck at all.

The patient is happy with her new more “hourglass” figure and notes that her mid section does not hang over her pants anymore. Note that no additional loose skin is noted post-procedure despite having loose skin prior to the procedure being performed.
Traditionally, the 2 areas that are most difficult to treat with lipo-sculpting procedures are the arms and the inner thighs. The skin in these areas is thin and therefore any asymmetries or over-aggressive reshaping will show through even more. Therefore many times patients are told they are not good candidates. In this photo, my patient was complaining about her arms not feeling or fitting comfortably in clothes. Especially here in Southern California where we wear lots of short-sleeves and tanktops, she felt very self-conscious about the size of her arms but she did not want an armlift because of the large resulting scar.	After the SmartLipo procedure you can see that there is no asymmetry or loose skin after the procedure which was quite common with traditional liposuction in the arms (which led many patients to get brachioplasty or armlifts). Brachioplasty is still a very good procedure in the correct patient but in this patient’s case, she got a nice improvement in the size of her arm without any additional loose skin with the SmartLipo procedure. It is important to be properly evaluated to see which procedure would be better suited for you.
Older woman who had her inner and outer thighs sculpted. As you can see there is much cellulite and loose skin prior to the procedure. However, after the procedure there is no additional cellulite or loose skin and her thighs are much slimmer.
